Personalised Tuition That Builds Confidence, Progress and Independence
Every young person learns differently. Our tutoring service provides flexible, personalised academic support built around each learner's needs, ability and goals — whether that's catching up, preparing for exams, rebuilding confidence in education, or progressing beyond the classroom.
For many young people, progress begins with rebuilding confidence, developing positive learning habits, and having someone take the time to understand how they learn best. Our tutoring can be tailored around:
Sessions are structured but flexible, and tutors adapt their pace and teaching style to the learner. Support is tailored to individual circumstances — not every learner receives every element above.
Subject availability may vary depending on the needs of the young person.
Reading, writing, comprehension, spelling, grammar, and English Language or Literature support.
Core numeracy, problem-solving, Functional Maths and GCSE preparation.
Support across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, depending on the learner's age and level.
Practical English and Maths support to help prepare young people for education, employment and everyday life.
Targeted tuition addressing curriculum gaps, revision, exam technique and preparation.
Support with foundational literacy, numeracy and wider learning skills.
Additional subjects may be available depending on the learner's requirements — get in touch to ask about a specific subject or qualification.
Our 1:1 tutoring gives young people focused attention without the pressure or distraction of a larger classroom — allowing tutors to identify gaps in knowledge, explain topics in different ways, and spend more time where a learner needs it most.
Individual tuition can be particularly beneficial for young people who:
These are potential reasons for seeking support, not eligibility criteria — get in touch to talk through a young person's individual circumstances.
Some young people need more than traditional academic tuition. Our approach can be adapted for learners with SEND, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, or barriers to accessing mainstream education.
Sessions can incorporate:
Where tutoring forms part of a wider ReBorne programme, our tutors and mentors can work together to support both academic development and wider personal outcomes.
We do not diagnose SEND, provide clinical treatment, carry out formal assessments, or deliver statutory EHCP services — our tutors adapt delivery for learners with these needs, working alongside a young person's existing support network.
Tutoring can also form part of a young person's Alternative Provision programme, with academic learning combined with:
This lets us build a broader programme around the young person, rather than treating academic progress in isolation. See our Mentoring and Employment & Independence pages for more on these wider strands.
ReBorne is not a registered school or accredited education provider, and tutoring does not award formal qualifications. Our tutoring and Alternative Provision support sit alongside — not in place of — a young person's statutory education entitlement; where arrangements involve a school, local authority or other commissioning body, the precise responsibilities are agreed with that body directly.
Depending on the programme and individual circumstances, tutoring may be delivered through:
Frequency and session length can be tailored around the young person's needs and referral objectives — not every delivery format is available in every circumstance, so we'll confirm what's realistic during the referral conversation.
Where required, we can provide professionals and families with updates on a young person's engagement and development. Areas monitored may include:
For commissioned programmes, reporting requirements can be agreed during the referral process. We don't promise specific academic results — progress depends on each young person's individual circumstances.
Families and professionals can contact us to discuss a young person's circumstances and work out an appropriate level of support together.
Not every referral can be accepted, and not every service is available in every area — we'll be upfront about this during the referral conversation.
Progress often begins before a grade improves — it begins when a young person starts believing:
“I can do this.”
Our aim is to help young people develop the knowledge, confidence and independence they need to move forward — academically and beyond.
Contact ReBorne to discuss their needs. We can work with families and professionals to identify the most appropriate level of support and build a programme around the individual.
